The Dexter Tandem 7,000 lb Electric Brake Trailer Axle Kits with Slipper Springs provide a complete heavy-duty running gear solution for trailer repairs, major rebuilds, and new trailer construction. Designed for equipment trailers, dump trailers, gooseneck trailers, car haulers, agricultural trailers, cargo trailers, and other commercial applications, these kits combine genuine Dexter electric brake axles with durable 2″ slipper spring suspension components for dependable towing performance and long service life.

Each kit includes (2) genuine Dexter D70 7,000 lb electric brake trailer axles with pre-installed 12″ x 2″ electric brake assemblies, 8 on 6.5″ hub and drum assemblies, Dexter E-Z Lube spindles, and heavy-duty cambered 3″ round axle tubes. Suspension-equipped configurations include 5-leaf slipper springs rated at 3,500 lbs each, providing the proper spring capacity for each 7,000 lb axle.

Axle Set: Includes two genuine Dexter 7,000 lb electric brake trailer axles with pre-installed electric brake assemblies, hub and drum assemblies, and Dexter E-Z Lube spindles. Ideal for replacing an existing tandem axle set while reusing your current suspension components.

Suspension Kit: Includes both electric brake axles, four heavy-duty 5-leaf slipper springs, and two U-bolt kits for replacing worn tandem axle and suspension components.

Build Kit: Includes everything in the Suspension Kit plus a complete tandem hanger kit designed for 2″ slipper springs. This configuration is well suited for new trailer construction and complete suspension replacement.

Running Gear Kit: Our most complete package, adding four 16″ 8-lug wheels with ST235/80R16 radial trailer tires for a complete tandem running gear solution.

Build Kit and Running Gear Kit configurations are commonly selected for complete trailer builds and major trailer rebuilds, while Axle Set and Suspension Kit options are popular for repairs and partial suspension upgrades.

Heavy-Duty Slipper Spring Suspension

The suspension-equipped configurations use 5-leaf slipper springs rated at 3,500 lbs each. Two springs support each 7,000 lb axle, creating a properly matched heavy-duty suspension system for tandem trailer applications.

Tandem Slipper Spring Hanger Kit

The Build Kit and Running Gear Kit include a heavy-duty tandem hanger kit designed for 2″ slipper springs and axle capacities from 3,500 to 8,000 lbs. The hanger system includes short equalizers, spring keeper hardware, and heavy-duty equalizer bolts to support controlled suspension articulation between both axles.

Choose Your Axle Size (Hub Face / Spring Center)

Select the hub face (HF) and spring center (SC) measurements that match your trailer frame and suspension setup for proper alignment, wheel positioning, tire clearance, and safe towing performance.

• Hub Face (HF): Measured from the wheel-mounting surface on one hub to the wheel-mounting surface on the opposite hub.
• Spring Center (SC): Measured from the center of one spring seat to the center of the opposite spring seat.

85″ Hub Face / 70″ Spring Center – Commonly fits trailers with a 72″ wide frame.

89″ Hub Face / 74″ Spring Center – Commonly fits trailers with a 76″ wide frame.

95″ Hub Face / 80″ Spring Center – Commonly fits trailers with an 82″ wide frame.
